Reverse engineering, also referred to as backward engineering, is a process of disassembling and analyzing a finished product to find out how it works. It’s something AUSCO employs to re-create or improve upon outdated or rare products, or inspire innovation.
WHY REVERSE ENGINEERING?
Once a product has been reverse engineered, the findings are documented, often in the form of diagrams, models, or code. It is a way to understand how something works, even without the original design documentation. This alone may be the end goal, however there are other reasons for reverse engineering.
Reproduction & Recreation
The process can be used to replicate or improve upon a product, especially if the original design is no longer availableor is poorly documented.
